What is a canvas print?
A canvas print is your photo printed on premium 400 GSM canvas, hand-stretched over a solid pinewood frame, ready to hang directly on a wall — no glass, no separate frame required. Picsin canvas prints come in two finishes: Mounted Canvas (clean white border edge) or Gallery Wrap (image continues around the edge).
What's the difference between a canvas print and a framed photo print?
A canvas print is printed directly onto canvas fabric and stretched around a wood frame — no glass, no mat. A framed photo print is printed on photo paper, mounted on a board, and set inside a frame behind glass. Canvas reads as a single sculptural object on the wall; framed prints read as a window into the photo. Canvas suits portraits, abstracts, and painterly subjects; framed prints suit sharp graphic work.
What's the difference between Mounted Canvas and Gallery Wrap?
Mounted Canvas has the image on the front face with a clean white border wrapping the sides of the frame. Gallery Wrap continues the image around all four edges of the frame, so the sides show the same composition. Mounted suits portraits and tight compositions; Gallery Wrap suits landscapes and any image with edge breathing room.
How do you print on canvas at Picsin?
We use archival pigment-based inks on a wide-format printer tuned for canvas, then hand-stretch the printed canvas over a kiln-dried pine frame in our India studio. Every print is finished with a UV-resistant satin lacquer for fade resistance. Most orders dispatch in 3–5 working days.
How long does a canvas print last?
Picsin canvas prints — made on 400 GSM canvas with archival pigment inks and finished with UV-resistant satin lacquer — are fade-resistant for 70+ years indoors away from direct sunlight. They are not designed for outdoor use.
What size canvas print should I order?
Match the size to the wall and the viewing distance. As a rough rule: 12–16" canvases suit small walls and viewing distance under 1 m (study, hallway, kids' room); 20–30" suits living rooms and bedrooms (viewing distance 2–3 m); 36"+ suits open-plan spaces and statement walls. Our editor shows a real-time preview so you can sanity-check proportions before ordering.
How high a resolution does my photo need to be for canvas printing?
For a sharp canvas print, target 150 PPI at print size — so a 12" × 16" canvas wants a file at least 1800 × 2400 pixels. Modern smartphone photos comfortably exceed this for canvases up to ~30". Our editor checks resolution against your chosen size and flags low-res files in real time before checkout.
Can I print my smartphone photo on canvas?
Yes. Most smartphones from the last six years produce files large enough for canvas prints up to 30". Older phones (<12 MP) start to soften beyond 16–20".
What image formats can I upload for canvas printing?
JPG, PNG, HEIC (iPhone), and TIFF, up to 25 MB per file.
Can I order a custom size canvas print?
Yes. Pick "Custom Size" in the editor — anything between 8" × 8" and 54" × 54" is buildable to order. Pricing is calculated automatically against the same per-size rate as standard sizes.
How long until my canvas print is delivered?
Most orders dispatch within 3–5 working days of design approval. Standard shipping adds 4–5 working days; Priority adds 2–3. Bulk orders (5+ canvases) take 4–7 working days to fabricate.
Do you deliver canvas prints across India?
Yes — free standard shipping to every Indian pincode via Blue Dart + FedEx. Same-day pickup from Delhi and Mumbai studios. Major metros (Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad) get 4-day delivery typically. Priority shipping is a paid upgrade for 2–3 day delivery.

How do I hang a canvas print?
Every Picsin canvas ships with a pre-installed sawtooth hanger. Canvases 24"+ also ship with D-rings and wire. Use a single nail or wall anchor (drywall anchor for plasterboard). For very large canvases (≥36"), use two anchors spaced to the D-rings.
How do I clean a canvas print?
Dust with a soft dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, lightly damp the cloth with plain water — never solvent or alcohol-based cleaner. The satin lacquer is water-resistant but not waterproof.
Will a canvas print warp in humid Indian weather?
No — kiln-dried pine + cured lacquer + 400 GSM canvas tension keeps the surface flat in normal indoor humidity (≤80%). Avoid hanging directly above a heat source or in a bathroom.
How much does a canvas print cost in India?
Picsin canvas prints start at ₹138 for an 8" × 8" and scale by area. See the size tables above for every standard size in Square, Landscape, and Portrait orientations.
Why are some Indian printers cheaper?
Lower-priced rolled canvases sold by other Indian printers are unframed, ship in a tube, and require you to mount them yourself. Picsin only offers fully hand-stretched, ready-to-hang canvases on 400 GSM material with archival ink and UV lacquer. The price difference reflects the build, not a margin gap.
Are GST and shipping included in the listed prices?
Yes. Listed prices include 18% GST and standard shipping pan-India. Priority shipping is a small paid upgrade at checkout.
Do you offer bulk or wholesale canvas printing?
Yes — for 10+ canvas orders, get in touch via /bulk-enquiry. Discount tiers depend on quantity.
Canvas print vs acrylic print — what's the difference?
Canvas prints are matte, painterly, textured, and last 70+ years. Acrylic prints (face-mounted on 5 mm acrylic glass) are glossy, modern, glass-like, and last 20–30 years. Canvas suits art reproductions and family photos; acrylic suits modern interiors and high-contrast graphic work. Picsin currently offers canvas prints, framed photo prints, and photo prints — acrylic is a planned addition.
